Excercise 1.3

Dear Charlie,

I have wanted to write you this letter addressing what you said about my working in the public relations field the other day. I have been running over our conversation repeatedly in my head, trying to figure out how to convince you otherwise. And I’ve come to the conclusion that the biggest thing I can tell you is just that public relations is what I’m meant to be doing. I think I could really find a place in this field of work. And I know that you have a negative interpretation of writers who manipulate their audiences and sugar coated lies that benefit big empty corporations, but I promise you that’s not what public relations is all about. Public relations is the ability to take a thought or an event and to clearly communicate that to a listening audience. I think that I could really add my passion and enthusiasm into my writing and succeed by making people listen and by making them aware. I could make a difference in the choices that people make or the ideas that they hold. So I hope that you will come to support me in my endeavor because I plan on making an incredible and unique addition to the world of public relations and it would mean a lot to have you with me along the way. Think about it…

Sincerely,

Christi
